Letters from the Farm

On May 17th, we proudly introduced Mestizos Coffee at the Local Colors Festival in Roanoke, VA—a vibrant celebration of the cultures that make Virginia home. We were excited to share our Colombian culture with our friends and neighbors. Sharing our coffee and our story among so many diverse communities was both humbling and inspiring. Representing Colombia—el País de la Belleza—at this event reminded us how deeply connected coffee is to identity, heritage, and community.

Our Coffee: From the Andes to Your Cup

Our first coffee offering is a single-origin batch from Las Araucarias, our family farm in Popayán, Cauca, Colombia. Grown at 1,760 meters and nourished by volcanic soils from Puracé, each cherry matures slowly in the cool, high-altitude climate, developing a rich and complex flavor.

With notes of tropical fruit, panela, caramel, and dark chocolate, a silky body, and a long, vibrant finish, this coffee captures the essence of its origin in every cup.

Meet the Founder of our Family Farm: Professor Danilo Vivas

Our coffee is grown, processed, and roasted at origin by Danilo Reinaldo Vivas—a mathematician, professor, and passionate coffee farmer. He brings both scientific precision and deep respect for tradition to every step of production, ensuring unmatched quality, sustainability, and traceability. His hands-on approach delivers true farm-to-cup freshness.

More Than Coffee

Participating in the festival wasn’t just about launching a brand—it was about honoring our roots and connecting with others through shared stories and flavors. The Roanoke community welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm, making it clear that this dream is worth pursuing.

We’re just getting started—and we invite you to be part of the journey. Contact us to sign up for our newsletter or to request that we ship our coffee to you — from our farm to your cup!
